Pandurang Purushottam Shirodkar (12 December 1916 – 5 September 2000) was a freedom fighter and first speaker of Goa Assembly.〔( Past speakers of Goa )〕 He was born in Indian state of Goa, studied Law in Portuguese India and worked as an editor with ''Navashakti'' daily in Mumbai. Later he participated actively in Goa's struggle for freedom, was in exile in Africa and Portugal for many years. He has been a member of the Indian National Congress and was a prominent figure in the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party.〔cabinet government in Goa, 1961–1993, Pages:4–5 By Aureliano Fernandes〕 Shirodkar authored many books in Marathi, Konkani, English and Portuguese, he also translated Bal Gangadhar Tilak's ''Shrimadbhagwadgeetarahasya'' into Portuguese. ==Refrefence==
